Acclaimed as one of “Italy’s most beautiful villages”, the ancient centre of Morimondo is located just a few kilometres outside Milan. Here stands the Cistercian Abbey and next to it “Il Filo di Grano, Inn with Cuisine” that retains all the charm of the local history. The dining rooms adorned with 18th century decor were created from one of the village’s most ancient farmhouses.

Intimate surroundings in which to rediscover the raw materials that make the contemporary cuisine of Chef Marco Caironi so very special.

    Cuisine and the territory

The menus favour the raw materials of Cascina Caremma and other organic farms in the local area.
High value is placed on respectful farming of the environment and the countryside, while at the same time the authentic flavours are preserved, but without renouncing a few unusual combinations.

Il Filo di Grano – The wheat thread –

an Inn with farm fresh Cuisine.

Following the red thread you will travel through ample green spaces, those of the Ticino Park, which with emotion and enchantment will lead you to the centre of the ancient village of Morimondo, situated a few km from Milan. Next to the Abbey the thread gives life to an ear of wheat and it is here that it fills with colour and aromas leading to the Filo di Grano, an Inn with farm-fresh Cuisine.

The ancient 18th century farmhouse thus opens its rooms, where you can’t help feeling enthusiastic in front of the old fireplaces and frescoes, giving space to the exclusive and discreet tables where you will be able to enjoy a proposal of specialty dishes in which cereals are the undisputed protagonists

        wine and specialty dishes
        proposal”

Following in the cuisine the thread that, untiringly weaves gastronomic patterns you will discover dishes that re-interpret both local and non-local products, starting from land products followed by water products to end in a triumph of sweetness. The proposed menu respects in an innovative and creative way the products from the territory and from the neighbouring Cascina Caremma without forgetting the land in a biodynamic food and wine pattern.

Thus the Filo di Grano, an Inn with Cuisine, opens a new chapter in the Caremma Group, offering new itineraries and weaving new stories to tell, to discover, to breathe and live in an itinerary full of aromas, values and attentions.
